21 year old singer/songwriter Ray BLK is utilising the commercial music scene’s current fascination with London culture, infusing song writing and vocal influences from the likes of Lauryn Hill and Amy Winehouse with an unmistakably British sound.

Her 2016 single, My Hood, which also features grime’s poster boy Stormzy, is a tribute to south London, describing its multicultural influences and what it’s like to grow up in the city. BLK’s artistry has led to coverage from the likes of i-D, MTV, Hypetrack, MOBO, Dazed and The Fader and has also seen her enter the infamous Maida Vale studios for live BBC Radio 1Xtra sessions. Following the success of My Hood and her sold out headline show at Hoxton Bar & Kitchen - which saw special guest appearances from Avelino, Kojey Radical and Stormzy - Ray BLK is set to independently release her EP Everybody Loves Ray in 2016.
